  1. Andrew, what do you think of Michel Houellebecq? He disturbs me to no end with his novel Platform which puts forward the argument that sex tourism in the Lower Developed Countries (LDC) provides the solution for the West’s social problems. I just got done arguing with Mumbles, on Brad's comment section, about how that's sick, but he seems to be supportive of it on account "Houellebecq will go down in history as an important and necessary satirist". He even argued Marquis de Sade was a good artist! That guy is sick and defending stuff like fulfilling carnal desires. On his website, he seems to like neo-advaitan losers like Sri Ramana Maharshi and so forth.

    It seems people want to have that computer chip in themselves and exploit others computer chips. I just want to live as a hermit not caring about this stuff.

    3. She wants to do that too. She thinks there is stuff to be found in solitude and living in harmony with the land self-sustainably. She wants a permaculture lifestyle, like the one she used to have in Vietnam. She was moved by the film Cave of the Yellow Dog, for example. I recommend checking it out when you have time too. She has decided not to have kids after watching True Detective.

    5. Yeah, you're right. I need to watch my diet and start working out.

      Have to buy a pressure cooker for vegetables.

      I care more about my brain, so should I get some chromium and selenium in order to take with my Fish Oil (Carlson, liquid brand)?

      I was wondering whether I should also begin include CDP-Choline in my diet?

      If I want to get buff, I have to eat grass-fed offal and beef again, but since my growth in awareness, I feel bad eating animals. I think I'll just get a Whey Protein shake. Do you have any Whey Protein shakes to recommend?

      I wish I could like the taste of fish but I don't. I detest it and it's hard for me to stomach.

      I need to get off the Internet and do more activities. I have been overly sedentary and depressive in front of the computer these past ~3 months. It's kind of been a blur. I need to get out of this episode and improve my health and do quality reading without staring at comp screen. I'll still come on occasionally to check this blog out or start my own.

      whether you need selenium depends on dietary levels !

      CDP-Choline looks interesting but i have never tried it and could possibly make feed bad gut flora ?

      whey protein shakes feed bad gut flora, you want to avoid that sort of thing and anything to do with "being buff" or bodybuilding, the whole scene is full of nutcase wrecks who collapse once past 35 ! :o(

    7. I actually have a severe problem with oversleeping. Even when I go to bed on time, I tend to sleep 10 hrs, sometimes even 12. I have a very, very bad problem with oversleeping...

    10. Isn't narcolepsy a rather drastic diagnosis for the symptom of oversleeping? Perhaps it's just a mild case of depression. Oversleeping is a typical symptom of depression.

    11. (Of course then the question arises: isn't depression just a symptom, too? Anyway - I'm sure one has to get out, away from the PC, get physical exercise, have a healthy diet - that fixes 95% cases of mild depression. The problem with the PC is not so much in the staring at the screen aspect, it's more that you're bombarded with other people's mindstreams and it's incredibly tiring... there's just so much stuff and information... I think "mind fasting" as Zhuangzi put it is really essential for health. Spending enough time just not thinking... and I don't mean zazen, in my experience just sitting normally outside in the sun without doing anything in particular is quite good.)

      did you read the link?

      have you attempted to give yourself any background in narcolepsy ?

      stuffed sleep will lead to depression sure enough, it's actual brain damage !

      you oversleep as well ?

    13. No I commented before checking the link, which was wrong and impolite, moreover I misused the word diagnosis. All I wanted to say it's hasty to think of narcolepsy when depression is so much more common and more probable... does that make sense? I don't oversleep, I sleep 8 hours, but I have trouble waking up (probably connected to the thyroid problems - tiredness is caused by malfunctioning thyroid). I'll inform myself about narcolepsy.

    14. basically it's a suggestion to sepehr, he know his details, what matched with me was the propensity for hypnagogic visions !

      both thyroid problems and narcolepsy can stem from autoimmunity, so with a common root event you can have both conditions to varying extents, that why health problems often don't readily parse into single distinct conditions !


      i am sure i have degrees of both narcolepsy and thyroid problems and i only sleep about six hours in a stretch, wake slowly and don't feel refreshed ! :o)

  4. Interesting commentary on the film Urga (Close to Eden):

    "If you ever wondered how an ordinary life could have been like without constant bombardment of television, ads and all the trappings of a hierarchical society, this movie beautifully depicts the life such a family, in the process of being unconsciously absorbed by the modernity the rest of us are so familiar with. The lead guy's performance as he tries to bemusedly make sense of the city and its services and warez is very touching. Its sad to see a strong, capable, independent soul finely tuned to the nature he is part of being slowly displaced by the "greater" civilisation, but its also an uplifting narrative of escapisim to a place where the contradictions and pretensions of the organised society does not exist."
