  1. MY QUESTION:

"I sometimes wonder whether slaves experienced moments of bliss or insight when they looked at the sun or the wide expansive field after being whipped."

    FRIEND'S RESPONSE:

    maybe so
    since they were probably barefoot
    so grounded to the earth
    and under the sun
so they were getting more nutrients and brain activity than the men staying inside watching
they at the very least were more natural
i mean think about what prison does to somebody
and now we do it to ourselves with entertainment

  2. interestingly both sa'di and miguel de Cervantes spent substantial periods of their lives as slaves and it really colours their writings, an inner coherence, yet laughing in a robust way at the absurdity of life !

the milksops in zen these days who start crying at the slightest contradiction!

yeah sitting kills is the result recent research and really has implications, I always try and get up and walk every quarter of an hour on the computer, I seem to be lucky and have a natural timer that makes me move !
